Memorizing the Twenty-Third Psalm and books of the bible were two of the requirements for youth to begin the confirmation process as Presbyterians in the late 1950’s. When Eddie was learning ‘The Lord is my Shepherd’, he’d been nearly a full year within the succession of improper sexual encounters in Scoutmaster Bob’s bedroom across the street. Eddie was in a race to be some sort of admirable person but totally confused about life.
